Letter to Those Considering Coaching from President Michelle Prosser
I have worked for twenty years with government, business and academic leaders. Throughout this time, I was frequently called into leaders’ offices to serve as an informal coach and sounding board. Leaders often commented that I had insights into their leadership style and sensitivity to the pressures that they faced. While I worked for three governors and numerous statewide candidates, I was often chosen to travel with them to provide feedback and support. I facilitated teams for governors that included cabinet secretaries and agency heads, and teams for a college president that included deans and faculty chairs.
I have spent most of my life coaching others. My formal training advanced these skills and allowed me to succeed quickly as a professional coach. My philosophy is to trust the client and trust the coaching process. I find coaching the most powerful way to empower individuals to live on purpose and reach their goals.
My mission is to partner with leaders to address their leadership development needs, while working with them to create a life that has purpose, service and balance. My passion is coaching and teaching. Working with leaders is what I have done with my life. I understand the unique pressure of “being on point” coupled with the desire to be a visionary leader who inspires others.
